Coast Rhododendrons are the State of Washington Flower. They are from the genus (generic name) Rhododendron, of the order Ericales, a large and diverse order of dicotyledons that include tea, persimmon, blueberry, Brazil nut and azalea, some parasitic plants, some carnivorous plants, in the family Ericaceae, the heath and heather family, which includes cranberry, blueberry, of course heaths and heathers, huckleberry, azalea, and Rhododendron.
